"Heart Attack"

About: Golden Jubilee National Hospital / Cardiac Surgery Royal Alexandra Hospital / Cardiology Vale of Leven General Hospital / Cardiac Rehabilitation

(as the patient),

Was suddenly out of breath and could not finish my daily walk. On returning home I was troubled with indigestion which came and went through the day as I self administered tablets and drank milk.

Around 21:00hrs that night I felt a strong bout of indigestion with a tightening of my chest. I called NHS 24 but started to travel to RAH Paisley. On arrival they confirmed I had had a heart attack and was admitted. I remained in hospital and received a procedure at Golden Jubilee to clear the artery.

I attended the Cardio Rehab which was facilitated by Rhonna, Gillian, Lillian and Sharon. They were first class in assisting my recovery and preparing me for looking after myself. The care I was given throughout this episode was excellent and hope all health care providers are given credit.

My name is Rhona Burch and I am one of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Physiotherapists within the Cardiac Rehabilitation Team at the Vale of Leven General Hospital. Thank you so much for taking the time to submit your patient journey to Care Opinion gammafq69.

It's good to hear that you managed to receive the help you required, were able to get your procedure at the Golden Jubilee National Hospital and that things have gone well since then.

Thank you very much for your kind comments regarding the team who were responsible for your care during your Cardiac Rehabilitation programme attendance- I will be sure to pass your kind words onto the other members of the team that you have mentioned.

It is great to hear that by the time you finished your time within the programme that you felt that you were given the skills to prepare for looking after yourself. This is the primary aim of the programme and as a team we are pleased to hear that this has been the case for you.

In taking the time to share your journey on Care Opinion, you have ensured that those responsible for your care are given recognition and thanks for their work which is greatly appreciated by all those involved in the Cardiac Rehabilitation Service.

On behalf of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Team at the Vale of Leven Hospital, I would like to thank you again for taking the time to leave your comments on Care Opinion and wish you the very best in your continued recovery.

Kind Regards,

Rhona
