"Treated with compassion, dignity and respect."

About: Renal Medicine / Renal and Liver Transplant High Dependency Unit (Ward 215)

(as the patient),

I had surgery last week which was successful from an altruistic donor as part of the kidney sharing scheme - my husband donated a kidney so there were 3 hospitals co-ordinating. I was moved to ward 215 - HDU and the care has been fantastic. I know exactly who is responsible for my care, everything is explained to me and the team listen and take action on my requests.  The have been nothing short of outstanding and I feel privileged to have been under their care - at all levels, I have been treated with compassion, dignity and respect.
