"A slice of heaven in a daunting place"

About: Maternity Care / Antenatal Maternity Care / Labour Ward Maternity Care / Postnatal (Ward 22)

(as a service user),

I had quite a traumatic time at the later stages of pregnancy. I was 14 days overdue and still not experiencing much change so had to be induced. Only at the very last minute after 3 long days was it successful. I finally got round to the labour ward after being in antenatal for some time and my midwife Sophie was just simply unbelievable, she changed my whole outlook on my pregnancy and cared for me with total compassion, empathy and love! A true definition of a midwife, selfless, kind and trusting. Even after being moved on from labour ward to postnatal she still came round to do her checks on me giving me reassurance. She's a slice of heaven in what can be a daunting place! I will never forget the care she showed me ❤️😁

Hello Brogs97, thank you for sharing your wonderful story.

I am happy to hear that after such a traumatic time, you had such a lovely outcome

I am sure Sophie will be delighted to hear your kind words. I shall pass your message on to Sophie and the whole team who I'm sure will get a real boost from knowing their care and compassion made such a difference to you.

Congratulations on the birth of your baby, I hope you are both doing well

Regards

Eileen
