"I couldn't fault any of the staff"

About: University Hospital Ayr / Combined Assessment Unit (CAU)

(as the patient),

I was recently admitted to CAU Ayr by my GP with breathlessness and chest pains.

The staff in CAU were amazing. From the student nurse who called me through and checked my obs, the Staff Nurse and HCSW that did my ECG, inserted a cannula and took bloods, to the Senior Charge Nurse, Darren, who seemed to have a good overview of what was happening in the unit and was coordinating things really well.

I was taken for a chest x-ray quickly by a lovely female porter and then reviewed by an ANP, Morgan and then a Dr named Ben. I couldn't fault any of the staff.  They were all friendly, efficient, knowledgeable and appeared to be working well as an entire team.

I appreciated their care and efficiency and was grateful everything was done in a timely manner, including discharge medications. Thanks to all the staff!
