"The care she received was phenomenal"

Following a recent diagnosis of lung cancer, my elderly mother was admitted to Medical Ward 1 at the Causeway Hospital. From the minute she went in until her discharge a few days later, the care she received was phenomenal. The staff kept both Mum and us, her daughters, informed throughout, and they clearly communicated well with other departments so that all the dots were joined up. When we were told a social worker would see her on Friday to discuss a home care package, we were far from expecting her to be discharged that day, but amazingly, everything happened very quickly and home she went with a full care package. We can't thank all the staff enough. (Plus, Mum loved the food once she'd regained her appetite!) So grateful to Dr Taylor, Dr Cannie, Dr Uzram, Nurses Roisin and Ellen, Alan (SW), physiotherapist, occupational therapist and everyone else involved in making Mum comfortable.
