I fell down my internal stairs late June at around 8am and was in a state of trauma as i initially thought i'd paralysed myself when i saw the state of my left foot. I was squealing, My husband phoned for an ambulance which arrived within 15 minutes. The staff were amazing, Made me feel as relaxed as they could and got me into the ambulance.
Got to the Ayr University Hospital and was taken within 10 minutes. Got x rays done and staff were very clear about what was happening and so so nice. The doctor came through with X-rays and told me it was broken then talked me through the procedure which inluded transferring me to Crosshouse hospital Kilmarnock orthopaedics trauma 2. She was so reassuring and kind and managed to pull my foot back into alignment with me taking pethidine, I was swiftly transported by ambulance almost 5 minutes later straight to a hospital ward at Crosshouse.
The nurses looking after me were just amazing. So kind and caring and my operation was carried out on the Sunday. The surgeon was very clear as was the anaesthetist. I was discharged the following day. I just want to write that everyone involved in the process for me was absolutely amazing. I could not fault them in any way. We're always quick to complain but I feel very lucky to have had such wonderful people looking after me and fixing me when i was in such a vulnerable state. Well done to all.
