"Appointment cancellation"

I had an appointment for 2pm on an appointed day for a flexible sigmoidoscopy in Omagh Hospital. This required a colon cleanse at 12pm, 2hrs before the appointment. I got a phonecall at 11.56am that morning to cancel my appointment. I am in a job where if I do not work, I do not get paid- I do not get ‘sick’ days or holiday pay. I also booked my 2 children into childcare for that day. So not only was my appointment cancelled, with no apology or real explanation, but I also lost a days pay and had to pay for childcare. I do believe that had I been informed at the very latest that morning, but certainly the day before, my frustration could have been avoided. This procedure was red flagged, and here I am 10 days later waiting on another appointment. I feel very let down by the trust on this occasion.
