"Made us feel supported and listened to"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Early Pregnancy Assessment Service University Hospital Wishaw / Early Pregnancy Assessment Service

(as the patient),

I had to attend an unexpected ultrasound scan due to reduced movements. I was anxious, worried and stressed about the scan. However when I arrived Cathie made me feel at ease instantly, by having nice pleasant normal conversations and explaining everything in great detail before, during and after the scan. This instantly stopped the worry and I was able to relax, focus and enjoy the scan which in turn helped the baby relax and we captured the most perfect images and I left feeling happy, with no stress or worries and this has since allowed me to be at ease on every scan I have had since.

Sometimes medical jargon can leave you feeling overwhelmed and Cathie as well as Susan have both made me fully understand everything at my scans, explained and reassured I understood everything, answered every question we had whilst having great conversations making us laugh, feel supported and listened to.

Dear Stacey D

My apologies for not responding earlier.

Thank you for taking the time to share this very personal feedback. I can fully appreciate what a worrying time this must have been for you and am pleased to read that Cathie was able to put you at ease and you left feeling reassured and relaxed in other scans. Cathie will appreciate your comments. She is recognised for her knowledge and experience, however it is reassuring to receive feedback like yours to reflect on practice. Both Cathie and Susan will be pleased to know that you felt listened to and understood what was happening.

I wish you all the very best going forward and thank you again

Kind regards

Lise
