Had a c section at Blackpool hospital, short staffed and complications arose. I feel I am lucky to be alive.
Delivery suite failed to provide basic pain relief unless asked, then made to wait in agony as short staffed, rushed about, poor handover of care between staff, no consultant available.
They failed to listen to our concerns that baby wasn't breathing normally and my baby would go on to have 2 emergency surgeries on her airway as she was struggling to breathe. For 6 weeks we begged midwives, health visitors, doctors, paediatricians to listen to us, before being blue lighted to another hospital where she underwent 2 surgeries.
I believe that both me and my daughter are lucky to be alive today, we both nearly lost our lives due to poor staffing, lack of care and a general bad attitude towards patients. I will never set foot back in that hospital!
