I just wanted to take the time to thank all the staff involved in my care on the antenatal ward at WGH having been admitted due to symptoms of
Pre-eclampsia in March. I was admitted just over 36 weeks in preparation to induce at 37 weeks. I was exhausted, uncomfortable and super anxious that my baby would arrive safely, particularly a worrying time as he was a special IVF baby. All the midwives, student midwives, auxiliary staff and doctors were so kind and caring! In particular Finula and Rachel (midwives) stand out to me - Finula took Time to chat with me and calm me down when I was upset. She is such an amazing midwife, knowledgable and kind . Finula made sure I understood care interventions and gave me options to ensure I tolerated procedures well. She has such a pleasant personality, and you can tell she loves her job.
Rachel was so knowledgeable, she completely put me at ease, I knew I was in the hands of someone so experienced. Rachel handled my care so efficiently, particularly when my BP was rising. You can tell she is an amazing midwife who brings so much to each women she provides care for.
I also encountered an incredible anaesthesiologist who assisted me during my C-Section in March - I feel awful as I have forgotten his name and he was key to my experience. He is a true professional. A c-section was not my intended birth plan but it was necessary to bring my beautiful boy into the world. He spoke me through the steps, made sure I knew my baby was safe, made sure I was symptom free and ensured my birth playlist was on during the surgery. The theatre staff and my obstetrician were all amazing too. Maternity triage and EPAS also supported my journey and found staff amazing. I will forever be grateful to all staff involved in keeping me and my son safe and helping me bring him into the world- he is so healthy and absolutely perfect! I am so grateful / thankful to be a mummy and I will not forget the care I was given, thank you so much.
