"Power up is a wonderful service"

About: North Devon District Hospital / Parkinson's Service

(as a carer),

Power up is a wonderful service. Before starting our outlook was very bleak but due to the amazing service provided by Suzanne and Bea, we are able to look to the future in a more positive light.

Power up provided a wealth of information, the speakers were all generous with their knowledge and time and the patients and supporters became friends. It no longer feels lonely or doom and gloom. We have been given a fountain of knowledge and can honestly say I worry for people who don’t have a service like power up as it is vital.

I have learned patience, skills and that people are out there to help with every aspect of our Parkinson’s journey. Suzanne is clearly passionate about what she does and no question is too silly or disregarded and the time she gave to each and every one of us goes above and beyond, Suzanne and Bea are pivotal to the Parkinson’s team and to see the difference they made to the well being of those attending the work out sessions was beautiful.

I cannot thank them enough for giving us a bit of our mum back, she smiles again, is joining a gym! Something she would never even think about even before the diagnosis and has made new friends, her confidence is beautiful.

Thank you for everything Power Up has done for our family.

Dear Zeezee87

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave feedback about your experience of attending Power UP! as a supporter for your mum. I am so pleased that it has been a transformative experience for your family. I am glad that you found the pace of the education sessions helpful with enough time being given to each subject area so that all questions could be addressed.

I hope mum enjoys attending the gym and continues to feel supported by the team.

Many thanks

Suzanne
