"Longer stay in hospital than expected!"

About: Victoria Hospital / Ear, Nose & Throat Victoria Hospital / SEAL (Surgical Elective Admission Lounge)

(as the patient),

Admitted for a thyroidectomy and an estimated 3 day post op monitoring.

The anaesthesiology team and SEAL unit staff were lovely.
Unfortunately I developed severe hypocalcemia and tetany post op. Prompt action from the on call hospital Doctor and fellow consultants determined a positive outcome. I was treated and monitored closely for 10 days. The ENT consultants were lovely, friendly and happy to answer any questions I had.
Nursing and patient care was excellent, consistent and accommodating.
Big thanks to all the staff involved in my care :)
