"You all do an amazing job"

About: New Stobhill Hospital / Skye House (Glasgow Adolescent Inpatient Unit)

(as a parent/guardian),

I want to say thank you to the staff at skye house for looking after my daughter for the last 7 months.  Theres been ups and down s mostly downs but things are finally improving and my daughter seems ready for her recovery journey to start. There were times with her consultant that it felt like I wasn't listened to, it all worked out and they worked well with my daughter. The effort and kindness they showed us with amazing and I realise at times it was very trying but they knew we would get there and we did.  Thank you for your patience and work with my daughter.

Saska was a great case manager always a point of contact. Weekly meetings as I wasn't included in the professional meetings which I feel is wrong as the patient and carer should be included there should not be any conversations had without the patient and carer being aware. Saska was a massive part of the journey for us and we are very grateful.

Mull staff have a hard job its very loud and not great for all patients.
To Louise, thank you for your kindness and patience your an amazing nurse and worked so well with my daughter despite her trying times.
To Sarah Shelly, Emma, caitlin, Nina and Gemma and all staff nurses you were a huge part in my daughters recovery you gave her time, empathy and used great care to help her and I feel your a big part to her getting to this point.   Thank you.
Jackie, and all the clinical support workers and students you're doing an amazing job and your dedication to the kids is amazing.  I found your help, whilst she was in, invaluable.
I just want to say thank you.  You all do an amazing job.
Finally Barry from patient services thank you for all your help over the last few months.  You have been so kind and helpful and I am really grateful for all the meetings and help you gave me.

Dear Virgopk73

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience of your daughter’s care at Skye House. I can only imagine how emotional and challenging the past seven months have been for you and your family, and I’m so pleased to hear that your daughter is now feeling ready to begin her recovery journey.

It’s clear from your words how much the kindness, patience, and dedication of the team meant to you—especially during the more difficult times. I’m glad to hear that the staff, including Louise, Sarah, Shelly, Emma, Caitlin, Nina, Gemma, Jackie, and the clinical support workers and students, were able to support your daughter with such compassion and care. I will make sure your kind words are shared with them all.

I’m also really pleased to hear how much you valued Saska’s support and the consistency she provided as a case manager. Your feedback about the importance of including both patients and carers in professional meetings is noted and appreciated. We understand how vital it is for families to feel informed and involved, and I will ensure this is shared with the team for reflection.

Thank you as well for recognising Barry from Patient Services—your appreciation will mean a great deal to him.

Please pass on my best wishes to your daughter.

Nicole
