"Caring and kindness from start to finish"

About: Gartnavel General Hospital Gartnavel General Hospital / Elderly Medicine (wards 2a, 2c, 6a, 6c, 8a & 8c)

(as a service user),

My dad was in gartnavel hospital ward 6a. The care he received was exceptional everyone from doctors, nurses, auxiliary's could not have done enough for us. My dad always wanted to pass at home but unfortunately it didn’t go that way but the staff made it feel like he was. They took care of all of us like we were family they made the whole experience a beautiful one. We as a family will never forget their caring and kindness from start to finish.

Thank you so much for sharing such a heartfelt message during what must be a deeply difficult time for you and your family. Please accept our sincere condolences on the loss of your dad.

We are truly honoured to hear that the team on Ward 6A at Gartnavel General Hospital were able to provide comfort, compassion, and dignity in his final days. While we understand how much it meant for your dad to be at home, it’s moving to know that the care he received helped make the experience feel as close to that as possible.

Your words are a powerful reminder of the importance of kindness, presence, and humanity in healthcare. The doctors, nurses, auxiliaries, and all the staff involved will be incredibly touched to know they made such a difference at a time that matters most.

Thank you again for taking the time to write to us. We send our warmest thoughts to you and your family.
