My GP sent me to the Clinical Decisions Unit after finding that one of my blood tests were abnormal. Knowing Glenfield Hospital I and my husband found the department easily. On arrival I was made to feel very welcome. I was then seen by nursing staff who carried out various tests and checks and taken for a chest x-ray. Although I waited a while I was then seen by a Doctor who was very kind and helped me understand what may be happening in my lungs.
After a very long day I was allowed to come home after being given an injection in my tummy and asked to return the following day for a CT Scan, which I did. After, what seemed to be many hours, I was given the all clear and allowed to go home.
I was given a reason why my blood test was abnormal, related to an illness I had 3 weeks prior, which was Covid. I had been extremely poorly. I just want to thank the 3 Doctors I saw over the 2 days, the Nursing Staff and the Lady who bought round the drinks and sandwiches etc. A very big thank you to you all on the CDU.
