"Care wasn’t great"

About: General Surgery / Colorectal Surgery (Ward 10) Ninewells Hospital / Accident & Emergency

(as the patient),

I had a recent stay in ward 10. A&E was amazing I felt safe and cared for then I moved to ward 10, care was not great. I had to ask numerous times for pain relief. Some nurses were kinder than others, and one doctor was actually quite rude, speaking as if I didn’t exist but directing what they were saying to my family. I feel bad saying care wasn’t great, but I actually felt I would be better at home than in the ward I was so I listened to.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. I wish to sincerely apologise that the care you experience was not the standard that we expect. We would be grateful to you if you would consider helping us to make improvements. If so, can I ask if you could contact the feedback team by email on tay.feedback@nhs.scot providing your details and outlining the detail of your concerns. That would allow us to formally investigate your situation, sharing with the staff of the ward to so that they can reflect and make improvements for the future
