"Cataract care"

I had waited twenty weeks to see a consultant re cataract in left eye, referred by optician. 

I telephoned to see when I would progress on the list.

I was told it would be a further twenty weeks to see Consultant then one year to one year and a half for operation.

I asked if I could be referred to Inverness or Glasgow.  The answer was no. Grampian do not refer cataracts to either centre. 

 Why is this the case.  I feel strongly we should be able to be referred to either of those centres as Inverness is said to work with Moray patients.
