"My wife has alzheimer's"

About: Older People’s Services / Hospital at Home Northern Sector

(as a service user),

Felt totally isolated, couldn't make head nor tail about what was happening. That's until the Hospital at Home took over and helped me. I cannot say or thank the nurses and staff enough. I had an awful experience in hospital so I didn't want to put my wife through that again. This is a fantastic service so keep it going it's the only way to look after this type of patient. Many Thanks to you all.

Thank you for your kind feedback. We aim at all times to prevent admission to hospital as this can add extra stress to both family and patient.

I am sorry to hear of your poor experience in hospital and really hope that this can be prevented in the future. The team will support family as well as patient and will aim where possible to treat at home. On occasions if the team are unable to treat patients due to various reasons we will try to put a plan in place to prevent hospital admission.

If you require our service in the future please feel free to contact GP for referral to the team.

I will pass on your feedback t the team.

Many thanks

Katherine
