"We feel relieved"

About: Children & Young People Physical Health / Children's Neuro Development Service Doncaster

(as a parent/guardian),

After a long wait for an appointment we eventually saw Dr Linacre. He recognised quickly that my Son not only had ADHD but also ASD. We had 4 appointments in a short period of time and after numerous tests my Son had a confirmed diagnosis. As parents we feel relieved that someone has seen & experienced some of what we see & experience and a plan can now be put in place to help my Son going forward. We were given helpful information and feel numerous avenues have been opened up. At last we feel supported!

Importantly, we feel that my Son will be supported in the future by professionals not only us, and the school will have the information needed to support him better in an educational setting.

Hello Mumsie0305!

My name is Jola and im the Team Manager for the Doncaster Children's Neurodevelopment service. Firstly thank you so much for leaving us feedback, it really does help us ensure we're doing the best we can for our patients and their families.

Its great to hear of the support you've been given by Dr Linacre, and how helpful he's been for you and your son, I'm confident that all the members of our assessment and post diagnosis team will give you and your son this level of care during and through the delivery of his care plan.

I also want to acknowledge the difficulty that the long wait to get an appointment has had, it is a significant issue that we are focused on addressing. The Trust has set an ambitious target of reducing our waiting times for appointments to 4 weeks by the end of 2026, and I want to assure you that all of us are doing our best to ensure we meet that target.

Thank you again for your leaving us this feedback, I will share it with the rest of the team to highlight Dr Linacre's good practice, and to motivate us to continue reducing waiting times for appointments.

Kind regards

Jola Obisesan
