I recently had a stay at Stracathro Hospital for an operation staying in Ward 12. I have to admit I wasn't looking forward to staying there and would have preferred Ninewells, as I suppose that's the norm.
However I was completely wrong. From the minute I arrived until I left the staff were amazing. Ward staff friendly, tentative always having time to explain everything, as were theatre staff.
In recovery I had a male nurse looking after me, unfortunately can't remember his name as heavily under the influence of quite a lot of analgesia! He was by my side explaining everything.
Everyone introduced themselves in a natural way not like they were a scripted to do so. Most importantly no one rushing you out of the door on discharge day. Not once did I hear any gripes or groans from staff A total credit to the NHS. Thank you Stracathro
