"No help from specialist nurses"

About: Queen Margaret Hospital / Breast care service

(as the patient),

I have concerns and no-one to help me , I've tried to phone two of the numbers that have been put on here by nurses but can't get through, I've tried more than once. The specialist nurses at Queen Margaret Hospital no longer help me so I have no-one to ask for help or advice. Can someone give me a contact that I can actually phone and get through to when I need help or reassurance, preferably someone who knows about breast cancer?

Dear VARob,

My name is Murdina MacDonald and I am the Lead Cancer Nurse. Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns. I’m really sorry it’s felt so difficult to get the help you need that can be such a heavy place to be, especially when you’re looking for reassurance.

Our breast cancer Nurse Specialists are often with patients throughout the day, which can make it harder to reach someone immediately. But if you leave a voicemail message, they will get back to you as soon as they can. I know that waiting for a response can feel frustrating, but please be assured it’s not a sign you’ve been forgotten.

If you’d prefer, you’re very welcome to email me directly at Murdina.Macdonald@nhs.scot, and I’ll make sure the right person contacts you.

Warm Wishes

Murdina
