My mother-in-law has moved in to live with us, and we've started to recognise that her memory was beginning to decline. Now that she's living with us, we thought it would be good to verify our concerns, as we sensed her memory was slipping.
The service we received was excellent. We learned about her diagnosis, which came with a wealth of information and advice, including contact information and resources for further help and support.
She seemed tired from the assessment and struggled with some questions. However, the nurse was very kind, spoke with us, and gave her a break. He then had a 1-1 conversation with her and explained everything.
Following the appointment, the diagnosis came through quickly. If only we had a magic medication to prevent her memory from getting worse, but we know this is only the beginning of the journey. Still, we have received a lot of support and gained a deeper understanding after visiting the service.
"We have received a lot of support"
