"Made to feel unimportant"

About: The Ulster Hospital / Gynae Outpatients

(as the patient),

Referred for infertility investigations in 2019, attended for 1st appointment 2021 and review 2022. Was bluntly told to lose weight, which has been unachievable despite significant lifestyle style changes. To be reviewed again in one year, no contact between then and now.

Followed up recently on review as pcos, queried but never confirmed, no menstrual cycle for a year, low mood, crippling headaches, only to be told by appointment booking there is no record of me ever having attended.

No diagnosis or treatment or in fact any sense that anyone cares is likely to mean that I will require other services, putting even more pressure on a stretched system. Surely by now the vicious cycle of obesity, pcos, infertility has been recognised and effective treatment can be offered??!

In my view, to be made feel so unimportant by a trust that supposedly values people is nothing short of abhorrent, and not what I needed to feel at this moment in time.  Do better, SET.
