"Recent out patient appointments for tests."

About: General Practices in NHS Highland Raigmore Hospital / General Medicine RNI Community Hospital / General Medicine

(as the patient),

I am 70+ and have never been an in-patient. I have attended as an outpatient 3 times in the past 40 years. My recent visits for scans and blood tests have been to determine if possible, whether my very varied symptoms are the result of medication (antibiotics) prescribed following a serious flesh injury overseas. I was very anxious since nothing seemed to make sense or be connected. Since consulting my GP about a urinary issue, I have been diligently followed up by the Practice and the hospital, receiving numerous blood tests and scans. .

I have been very pleased about this, mainly because of the uncertainty of the root cause.

My discussions with GPs and Consultant have been timely and helpful: this has made such a difference to me, helping me to feel I can relax because I am in good hands, and my case is being carefully considered. I am also impressed by the friendly, helpful  and caring manner of everyone who has dealt with me during my visits - receptionists, secretarial staff, nurses, all the ‘ologists’ , consultants, health care assistants and more.  We are still in the middle of this journey and investigation, but I am very grateful for the care and professionalism I have received.  It has helped me emotionally as well as physically.
