"Waiting times"

About: Ophthalmology / Eye Casualty and Orthoptics

(as a service user),

My husband was asked to come to eye casualty instead of a&e. He was given an appointment at in the afternoon and was triaged... and then we've sat and watch an entire tennis match and then some, while we've watched 6 people triaged after us be seen.

Told to come for a certain time only to be actually seen 4 hours later. We were the last people in the waiting room. Had to walk the long way to get back to the car as the Falls Rd door was locked up. Not happy with the level of care we received.

Dear NotHappyatall,

I am sorry to read about your experience in Eye Casualty. Unfortunately as this service is an emergency service waiting times can fluctuate. Patients are taken in order or priority not depending on their arrival time.

I can assure you that we are doing everything we can to ensure patients are not experiencing lengthy waits in the department.

Regards

Adam
