About: Children's Specialist Health Services / Paediatric Diabetes Team

(as a parent/guardian),

My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in January 2024. Since day 1, all staff in the team have provided excellent education and advice as well as emotional support for my daughter and me.

Dr Bumke is a compassionate consultant who relates well to my neurodivergent child. All the nurses (although we have had most contact with Fiona, Dan and Sharon) are caring, nurturing, patient and extremely supportive.

We were extremely fortunate that my daughter received a pump this year and the training we were given was excellent. I feel very grateful to have the support of such a fantastic team.

I am delighted to hear about you and your daughter's experience with all the staff who cared for her during her journey with Type 1 Diabetes and that they were all caring, supportive and empathetic.

I am also pleased to hear that your daughter starting on an insulin pump has been a positive experience and all the education received has been beneficial.

Your thanks and feedback will be shared personally by myself to the Paediatric Diabetes Team especially those named.

I would like to wish both you and your daughter well for the future.
