"A mistaken recall letter badly handled"

I recently had my annual mammogram, and as it is for an increased risk for cancer following radiotherapy for another cancer, it is always a worrying time. 

I received a letter from Queen Margaret saying I needed further breast X-rays which would be on or near a date that had already passed. There was no telephone number on this letter. 

So I call radiology and get through to be told that letter was sent out by mistake. Mine should say no issues found and my yearly check is booked for next year. 

It is a huge relief clearly, but not a single apology or recognition of what the impact of that letter is on someone awaiting results (I had a call back last year) following breast x rays or someone who has previously been through a cancer diagnosis.
