"It is the best care"

About: Urgent Community Response North Hants

(as a relative),

My late husband had a knee operation 18 months ago, and afterwards had a fall. I called the ambulance, and  because he was able to stand up himself, they sent out a paramedic and physio from the urgent community response team. The physio, Christine, assessed my husband and then called her manager to ask for her diary to be cleared that week, so that she could come and see my husband each day instead. At the time, my husband could only be downstairs. She supported him with getting into the shower etc and wouldn't leave us until she knew that he could get up the stairs. She had such a  good rapport with my husband.

My husband was due to have his other knee operated on, but he was scared about it, so it was agreed he would have physio.

He had another fall, and the team came out and checked him over thoroughly. They were fantastic.

Sadly my husband had another fall and I knew he wasn't right. I called the urgent community response team and they told me to call an ambulance. He went into hospital where they diagnosed a Stroke. He sadly passed away a couple of days later.

I cannot praise the care that we had from the urgent community response team enough. They supported us with equipment, and had a great rapport with my husband, and came out to us very quickly. It is the best care.
