"Everything moves along very efficiently"

About: Cancer Services / Radiotherapy

(as the patient),

Everything moves along very efficiently. I have only 15 mins to do all the prep, drink the water etc etc but because people comply with the regulations everything moves along very nicely and I cannot think of any time over the past month when I have been held up.

Car parking is always difficult - at my last visit there were seven cars in front of us queueing up for a space, but I have only ever been help up for about 10 mins at the most. You have to give yourself extra time for the parking.

The atmosphere is quite friendly in the waiting room and you can easily chat to other people there. Full marks to Jacqui, Sarah and Bob who handle everything that comes along, particularly if there is a hold up of some sort; they manage it very efficiently.

With regard to the actual treatment itself I am always amazed that we have to get lined up in a position for the treatment to be carried out and they get that exactly right every time. Thanks go also to the staff in the treatment rooms.

Hi Jackie11,

Thank you for taking the time to feed back to us about your experience in the radiotherapy department. My name is Rebekah, I am one of the radiographers who is involved in the planning and delivery of your treatment.

It is great to hear that you were well looked after by Jacqui, Sarah and Bob, and that your experience within the treatment rooms was efficient; I will gladly feed this back to the teams who will appreciate it.

Unfortunately parking is an ongoing issue that our manager continues to bring to board meetings, and I am sorry that this has held you up at times - we understand that this can add to the anxiety that some patients may feel coming in for their treatment, and so we will continue to speak up for change in this regard.

Once again, thank you for your kind words and I wish you well in your treatment and beyond.

Kind regards,
Rebekah
