"The death of my husband."

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

(as a relative),

My husband died very unexpectedly after a tragic accident. He died in ICU3 Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow. I want to express my gratitude to the medical and nursing staff there. The care my husband received was exceptional but unfortunately his injury was too severe. As a family we were treated with the utmost kindness and compassion, at a very difficult time, despite the ward being very busy.

I am a nurse myself and have worked in the NHS for over 40 years, so I understand the challenges that staff face on a daily basis. Despite this they did everything they could for my husband and for me and my family. As a family, we are, of course, devastated and trying to come to terms with our loss, however we very much appreciate everything that was done for him and for us.

Dear Marshall 10

Thank you for taking the time to share your heartfelt message during what must be an incredibly difficult time for you and your family. Please accept our deepest condolences on the loss of your husband. We are truly sorry for your loss.

Your kind words about the care provided in ICU3 at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital will mean a great deal to the team. It is deeply moving to hear that, even amidst the challenges and pressures of a busy ward, the staff were able to offer you and your family the compassion, dignity, and support you needed.

Please know that your message will be shared with the ICU3 team. It reminds us of the impact that compassionate care can have, even in the most tragic of circumstances.

Take Care

Nicole
