"Child birth Experience"

About: Royal Blackburn Hospital / Maternity care

(as the patient),

When I was in labour with my son. I was moved to a different ward so someone could watch me all the time as I had low blood pressure and was anaemic. The nurse I was with for the next few hours was not considerate. I wanted to be on the mobile monitoring, but they said it needed charging. When they went on break the alternative nurse said it was charged and didn't know why I couldn't use it. I wanted to have a water birth, when I asked when I could get in the pool the nurse put me off. Again when the cover nurse came in they said they could start running the pool anytime from then on.

When the labour got into difficulty, the nurse tutted and told me I wasn't pushing properly, although they didn't explain how else to do it. When a doctor was called, the nurse told him I've been learning hypnobirth, and rolled their eyes in a way I found condescending.

The doctor was great. He told the nurse off for not having called for him sooner. I was whisked off to surgery. My son was stuck as the cord was wrapped around his neck. After surgery the doctor noted I looked pale and checked I had not lost too much blood.

I would like to complain so this nurse is not mean to other mothers in labour but I do not know their name and it was not on my badger notes app.
