"All the support I wanted was there"

About: Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust / Adult mental health Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust / Community mental health team - south and west

(as a service user),

As I was referred to the service previously, I already had an idea of what the service entailed but I was using the service for retention of job this time (initially). I feel I got the support I required from my Employment Specialist Rayhaan from rewriting my CV, completing applications, following applications up and completing mock interview techniques. Rayhaan was there as a constant person if I needed any support.

This new aspect of the service was explained very well. I knew what was being offered and how I could use the service appropriately. Job searching was very helpful and looking at different options for me to consider. This was followed by a lengthy In-Work Support timeframe. This has been very useful for a regular catch up to discuss work (colleagues, managers, positives, negatives, etc.) and solutions to these problems I could implement. I feel that the In Work Support aspect was the most helpful part of my time with Rayhaan. I didn’t really feel there were any barriers to attending appointments with Rayhaan. I especially appreciate the ability to change location for appointments.

I feel very good achieving my employment goals.  Rayhaan was very supportive over a stressful period. I felt valued by Rayhaan through emphasis on my achievements and what I had achieved so far, how far I have come and overcoming challenges. This kept me going.

I’d like to thank my daughter specifically for always being my rock through life. I’d also like to thank Carolyn (therapy) and Stephen (C/Co) through the help they have given.

There was not really any room for improvement with the employment service, all the support I wanted was there. You guys are perfect!

One piece of advice I would give to new clients with the employment service is: keep your achievements in mind and how far you’ve come and know your potential to go further.
