I gave birth to my baby girl last year. I was induced and had complications post birth and was kept in for a week, throughout this week the care and treatment I received was exemplary. The midwives and HCSWs were amazing and absolutely need more recognition for the work they do. I was made to feel at ease during difficult times, had help with the baby post birth and got the opportunity to have general chats with the staff which I loved, as they are all amazing people. I regularly think about the midwives who delivered my baby and those who helped before and after - they have left such a positive lasting effect on me and I will always be grateful for them.
I hope all the staff within the maternity ward at DGRI know how brilliant they are, and know that the support and care they provide stays with people and really does make a difference.
