"Thorough, professional and sensitive care"

About: Northern Ireland Ambulance Service / Emergency ambulance response South West Acute Hospital / Emergency Care and Medicine Services South West Acute Hospital / GP out of hours / Urgent Care

(as the patient),

I had reason to contact out of hours health service in the early hours. The on call GP and subsequently the Ambulance service who attended my house could not have been more helpful. I was then taken to the South West Acute Hospital emergency department where I had a brief stay. The care provided by all staff was thorough, professional and sensitive : I had the opportunity to witness first hand just how staff cope in such a busy environment .Thank you to everyone involved in my care and that I was able to return home relatively quickly. The NHS at its best!

Dear sculptorer93

Thank you for taking the time to post an opinion with Care Opinion, regarding an episode of care you received at the Emergency Department of the South West Acute Hospital. My name is John Kerr, an Emergency Nurse Practitioner, based in the Minor injuries department at the Emergency Department (ED) and I shall be responding on behalf of the ED.

I am delighted to read your post, on how the level of care you received from us, has made you feel. Certainly, as you mentioned in your post, the ED can be a busy and challenging environment to work in, but rest assured that our priority will always be our patient, regardless of their clinical need.

I shall pass on your kind comments and thank you, to all our staff by posting on the notice boards for all to read.

Finally I hope this response finds you well and that you are recovering from you recent bout of ill health.

Kind regards

John Kerr

Emergency Nurse Practitioner (ENP)
