"Outstanding treatment"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Day Surgery

(as a relative),

My partner was recently admitted for a hernia operation. He has Parkinson's and is very conscious about his tremor and people staring.

At reception I mentioned this to Liz and she said she would inform the nursing staff.

The reception area was heaving with patients and relatives and I thought,  no chance.

We were both extremely happy to see every member of staff approached each patient,  introduced themselves,  spoke to relatives and explained what would happen and how they would call the relatives with progress on their loved one.

When my partner was called,  the nurse explained that he would be given a room on his own and also allowed me to stay with him to help him get changed and to meet with the surgeon and anaesthetist.

True to their word, they called to let me know he was out of theatre, operation had gone well and they would call me back when he was ready for discharge.

Outstanding treatment by everyone.  Thank you Day surgery for all your professional and kind care.

Dear Catherine641

I am delighted to hear your positive experience whist attending day surgery with your husband, as a team we always strive to provide patient centred care and make it less stressful for patients and their families.
