"Great GP practice, saved my life"

About: Whiteacres Medical Centre

Whiteacres must be one of the best GP practices in the area. The staff are not only very capable and thorough, but also patient and kind which is as important. My series of Psa blood tests (Psa high) / Dre exam of prostate rear (clear) and a prompt Mri scan hospital referral to check the prostate front, picked up an enlarged prostate And frontal lobe prostate cancer early before it had spread. Who knew one could have both at the same time! Subsequent active surveillance via regular GP Psa tests and then hormone / radiotherapy when the cancer turned moderately aggressive in Summer 2024 treated the cancer. Thank you Whiteacres GP's for insisting on the Mri scan despite a clear Dre exam, you saved my life. And to the Alexandra Urology / Worcester Royal Oncology teams for the effective Mri scans, biopsies and cancer radiotherapy treatment. The latest Whiteacres Psa test is down to less than 0.1, strongly suggesting that the treatment has worked. I consider myself very fortunate to be on Whiteacres' patient list.

And to any man reading this aged over 50 (or under 50 with a high risk family history of prostate cancer), it's important to get regular Psa tests once over 50 - it will probably be clear, but it might just save your life.
