"Child getting an EEG at the Neurology Centre"

About: Craigavon Area Hospital / Neurophysiology services

(as a parent/guardian),

When we received the letter inviting our son for an EEG - we knew that it would be something that he would be apprehensive about. We thought that the short YouTube video depicting a boy going for an EEG was so helpful in reassuring our son as to what to expect.

Suzannah the specialist clinical physiologist was fantastic with our son. She took an interest in him and managed to get him to engage in converstation, reassuring him every step or the way. Everything down to the decorations and wall art proved to be so beneficial in getting him to look at particular direction, identifying vehicle stickers on the wall etc.

Hi AJLeonard,

Thankyou for taking the time to share your feedback - it is greatly appreciated.

I am delighted to hear that your son had such a positive experience while having his EEG carried out. I am also really pleased to hear that the video has been a useful tool in providing reassurance for your son before he attended for his EEG.

I will pass on your lovely comments to Susannah.

Kind regards,

Denise Trouton
