I had to be taken by ambulance to Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy recently after slipping on a wet floor. Landed on my side. Paramedics arrived in 10 minutes and were brilliant. Taken to A&E and was seen by fantastic Doctor who sent me for X-Rays and confirmed my fears of broken hip.
Admitted to Ward 31 where the whole team have been brilliant - so attentive and caring. Was seen by Trauma Team on Friday evening and surgery options explained very clearly. Operation scheduled for first thing Saturday morning. Consultant, Mr Howard and his team and Anaesthetist, Katy, came for pre-op chat and put my mind at ease.
Operation was successful and post-op care in Resus by Yanli and Tracey and then Ward 31 from Wayne, Anna and the whole Ward 31 team just incredible. Follow up then from Mr Howard and Surgical Team. Just incredibly brilliant, skilled professionals. Physio, Ali been superb getting me on my feet and along with Hazel getting me up and down stairs using crutches which I’ve had to quickly learn to use but Ali is a great teacher.
The care, dedication, skill and professionalism I have experienced since getting wheeled into the ambulance from everyone I have encountered in Victoria Hospital until now has been over and above anything I could have imagined.
I am in awe of all these people. I could not wish to have been cared for by a better group of people.
Thank you all so much!
