Recent Tuesday late June my husband had an appointment at the Royal Hospital in Belfast. He had an operation on the top of his head due do skin cancer the week previous, so this was just an appointment to see how his wound was healing. We arrived at hospital in good time as his appointment was at 8:00 am. We were going to ward 2E, but just as we got up to the upper floor my husband said that he was going to be sick and just by that he started to vomiting. So a nurse was going to start work and saw my husband being really sick and stopped to see if he needed any help, my husband said no he would be fine. The nurse seen how sick he was as asked him where he was going and she stayed with my husband and took him to were his appointment was. She then sat him down and went to the nurse in charge and told her what she had seen. In the meantime the cleaner gave him a bottle of water but did ask first if he was allowed it, it was just to wash out his mouth and she also brought him out kidney dishes incase he was sick again. Just by that time a nurse came out and seen to my husband straight away, and there was a doctor from Colarado who also seen to him. I have nothing but praise about how caring the staff were.
He just had another follow up appointment at 8:00am again and before he was seen too, the number of staff who remembered him from the following week all asked how he was this week and even the cleaner, who asked if he would like a cup of coffee. Just then the doctor from Colarado past by and she then turned around realising who it was and also asked how he was this week. He was then called for his check up and the reception asked how he was as she had not started work last week, but she heard all about him being sick, how wonderful was that. So he went into a assisted sister called Shirley and she checked over him. We both came away this morning feeling grateful for the care an attention he has received over the past 3 weeks. People are too quick to complaint when things don't go there way but are not willing to say thank you to all the staff it takes to run the health service. So here is a great big thanks for Mr Rashid and his staff at 2E in the Royal hospital in Belfast, Well done to you all.
