"Son's care"

About: Veor Surgery

(as a parent/guardian),

I’m very disappointed with the care my children received at this practice. I brought my son in with a high fever (39.5°C), pus and swelling on his tonsils, and obvious signs of infection. By the next morning, his temperature had reached 40°C. Despite this, I was told he was overdressed, that forehead thermometers are rubbish, and that it was likely viral — no proper investigation, just dismissal.

Only a few days earlier, I had brought in my daughter with almost identical symptoms. The doctor I saw also said hers was viral. We sought a second opinion later that same day, and she was immediately prescribed antibiotics for a bacterial infection. When I mentioned this during my son’s appointment, the doctor brushed it off by saying things change. That kind of attitude — instead of acknowledging a clear mistake — is incredibly concerning.

It felt like they came into the appointment already defensive, possibly because I had raised a phone complaint previously. If that’s the case, it’s highly unprofessional to let personal feelings affect a child’s medical care.

I’ve lost trust in this provider and will be requesting that they no longer see my children. I hope the practice takes this seriously, because children’s health deserves more than dismissiveness and vague excuses.
