"Deepest thanks and appreciation"

I would like to share my deepest thanks and appreciation for the outstanding care my son received recently on Ward 31 at Belfast Trust when he had his tonsils removed.

From the moment we arrived, every member of staff we encountered went above and beyond to ensure both my son and I felt informed, reassured, and genuinely cared for.

Special thanks to Nurse Trisha, whose calm and compassionate manner immediately put us at ease. Her professionalism and warmth were a huge comfort to both of us.

We are also immensely grateful to Mr. Trimble, the surgeon, whose confidence and clarity helped us understand the procedure and feel secure in the care being provided.

The anaesthetists, Dr. Baillie and Dr. Marcus, took the time to explain everything clearly, with such a kind and reassuring approach – which was so appreciated in what can be a nerve-wracking moment for any parent.

A special mention too for theatre nurse TJ, who brought such a friendly and calming presence at a crucial time. My son remembers how nice everyone in the theatre was – and that means the world to us.

As a healthcare professional myself, I felt proud to witness the level of professionalism, empathy, and teamwork demonstrated throughout our time on the ward. I already know how hard healthcare staff work, but seeing it from the perspective of a parent made me appreciate it on an even deeper level.

Thank you again to everyone on Ward 31 – you are a credit to the Trust, and I’m proud to be a colleague in such a caring profession.
