"Antrim Area Hospital-Emergency Dept, Ward AAA , Ward A1"

About: Antrim Area Hospital / Accidents & Emergency Antrim Area Hospital / Ward A1 Respiratory Antrim Area Hospital / Ward B4 Acute Assessment Area

(as a service user),

I came to ED at AAH having been woken out of my sleep by really bad pain in my chest and lung. In what seemed like super fast time I was triaged and seen by a doctor. Before I knew it I was having a chest X-ray followed a short time later by CT scan of my chest. After the CT scan a porter brought me back to an ED waiting area with comfortable reclining chairs. I had barely sat down when another doctor spoke with me and I found myself being admitted to Ward AAA were I spent seven days whilst awaiting a bed to become available in Respiratory Ward A1

Wow!!! Firstly what amazing staff! From domestic staff all the way up the ladder to my consultant  I was absolutely blown away by the kindness, dedication and absolute professionalism of the amazing people who work in ED, Ward AAA and Ward A1.

I like to observe people and over the last couple of weeks I have had the time to witnessed some of the complaining, in my opinion selfish, aggressive, demanding and ungrateful people society has to offer.

Grown adults being abusive and threatening violence towards nursing staff. Foul and racist language being directed at staff.

Fortunately I'm not going to waste my time writing about the worst of humanity.

On the other side of the coin are the most beautiful, caring and downright awesome human beings on the planet.

Words alone are insufficient to express the gratitude and appreciation I feel for the amazing staff at AAH- ED,Ward AAA and Ward A1 for the care I have received. It is actually impossible to repay the kindness and consideration afforded to myself.

I have more often than not heard bad reports and complaints about Antrim Hospital.

I attended a hospital with a worrying medical condition I did not book into a 5 Star hotel!

Thank you from the bottom of my to each and every member of staff I encountered for making it a 5 Star stay.

Domestics,Chefs,Porters,Ward Clerks, Consultants,Doctors and Nurses.

I will always be grateful 🙏 ❤️ 🙏
