I found out I had osteoporosis and was quite surprised. I didn't know much about it and felt concerned. I went to my GP to discuss but didn't get much information. The GP referred me to the Fife Osteoporosis Service as I wasn't keen to take the only drug the GP could prescribe. I am so glad she did as the Osteoporosis Specialist Nurse - Karen was so helpful. We discussed the different drug treatments for the condition and she was happy to answer all my questions. She also gave me lots of information on the condition. I couldn't have asked for better support.
I opted to go for an infusion once a year at Queen Margaret Hospital, Dunfermline. The nurse there was also very caring and helpful. The NHS in general gets lots of criticism so I feel glad to be able give some very positive feedback.
