My husband & I would like to share the many positive aspects of the maternity care at the Royal Alexandra Hospital.

We feel truly lucky to have been cared for by such a dedicated and thoughtful team, whose kindness and expertise left a lasting impression.

Lin, thank you for acting swiftly and escalating my care to the labour ward.

April and Student Midwife Rachel, your early care was deeply appreciated — and Rachel, your kind, empowering words helped remind me of my birth wishes when I needed it most.

Kenny, your expertise was immediately evident. Thank you for preparing me for theatre so efficiently.

Amanda, you arrived at exactly the right moment. Your experience and reassuring presence made a lasting difference.

Gemma and Student Midwife Chloe, thank you for your dedication and compassionate care during the final hours of labour and recovery. I’ll always be grateful for how gently and attentively you looked after us all. 

The surgical and anaesthetic team, your professionalism, teamwork, and calm reassurance helped me feel safe during a challenging surgery.

Support Worker Elizabeth — who introduced herself as “Auntie Elizabeth” — your warmth was deeply reassuring. Alongside Student Midwife Carla, you both showed such kindness and attentiveness on our first night.

Kate, arranging a private room so my husband could stay meant more than words can say.

And to the community midwifery team Sharon, Dorothy, and especially Emma Steel — your continuity of care was exceptional.

Emma, thank you for preparing us so thoroughly for birth with honest, empowering antenatal care and for your thoughtful postnatal support. You went above and beyond to arrange consultant appointments, helping us feel confident in our decisions from the very start.

Our birth experience was made brighter by the care, compassion, and dedication shown by so many. We’ll always be thankful for the support we received — and we hope these words honours the positive impact each of you had on our journey.
