I have liver cancer and have already have a liver resection to remove a tumour one year ago but unfortunately another tumour had been found after routine surveillance. It was found that his tumour was inoperable due its proximity being close to major blood vessels and other organs.
Therefore radiotherapy was a better option which I had at the Aberdeen hospital which meant myself and my wife needed to stay over for a couple of weeks which we did at the very excellent Clan Haven cancer support centre near the hospital.
This was the first time I’ve been to this hospital and was very pleased with the service, friendliness and professionalism of all the staff I dealt with.
The radiotherapy department was modern, clean and efficient with the staff friendly and positive allaying all my fears due to their calm, professional manner. I was initially quite troubled as to what to expect but my fears were for nothing as I felt no pain and was totally relaxed the whole time I was there.
I take my hat off to all the staff, thank you so much for looking after me and my advice to anyone who is facing similar treatment is have no fears as you are in safe caring hands in a modern hospital.
"Thank you so much for looking after me"
