"So-called emergency appointment"

My partner has several medical needs and has regular appointments with different branches of the NHS in Lincoln. A few weeks ago an emergency appointment was made with the community podiatry team to inspect my partner’s orthotic shoes. The appointment, an emergency, is in August? How is that an emergency? His orthotic shoe, left side, is covered in blood because the absolutely poor material has been rubbing on his skin. Plus, because he’s waiting and waiting, his foot is beginning to supinate. This man is a diabetic. He has returned to full time work and loves his job. The orthotics department at Lincoln County Hospital is in danger of setting that man back. He’s worked so hard to get to where he is now. He rang orthotics and they put him on a cancellation list because the appointment book is full. In my opinion it’s just not good enough. This man needs these shoes seeing to urgently.
