My dad was seen at the start of January at the Endosponge clinic and was instructed by the nurse that he would receive his results within 6 weeks. We assumed rightly or wrongly that after the 6 weeks no news was good news. Much to his surprise he received a letter at the start of June stating he may have Barrett’s Oesophagus and requires further scopes and biopsies. I think that a wait of 6 months to be told you have something potentially wrong and you require further treatment is shocking. No further communication has been sent since the letter was received almost 4 weeks ago to confirm further appointments to confirm his diagnosis. The lack of communication is abysmal and needs urgent attention, I don’t think it’s unreasonable to have expected these results to have been delivered to my dad in a timely manner to provide appropriate diagnosis and treatment options discussed.
