"Positive feedback for PAU"

About: Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital / Paediatric Assessment Unit (Children's Assessment Unit)

(as a parent/guardian),

I took my trans teen to PAU during a period of mental health crisis - my teen was almost non-verbal with a number of previous Drs, through NHS24 and Out of Hours. On admission to PAU, the nursing staff and Drs were able to build an instant rapport with my teen, and helped him more than we could have hoped for. The staff that we interacted with were amazing! My teen felt seen, and validated, which had a hugely positive impact on his mental health. A massively special mention to Dr Ballard, who went above and beyond to support my teen and offered substantial additional support.

Thank you so much for leaving this feedback. It is so lovely for staff to receive this praise and know they have made such a positive difference to a family.

I will ensure the feedback gets to the relevant staff.

Kind Regards

Sue Danby
