I am cancer patient receiving chemo and should have been isolated from the main A&E waiting room. It was disgusting. I did ask at reception gave them my cancer card and was met with blank looks. The member of staff said - look round, what do you want us to do?
After 4 hours of sitting with lots of sick people I phoned the chemo hotline who got onto A&E to put me in a side room. Not enough doctors I had to sort it out myself and phone my cancer nurse who was at the Royal London that day, she phoned my team and they came down to A&E who were terrific and kept apologising for the state of the A&E .
I was there 11.5 hours I was tired and in pain after just having had chemo. I felt sorry for all the patients waiting. In my experience, this place needs sorting out. The seats are horrendously uncomfortable too in the waiting area - why???
