"Thank-you all, you are wonderful"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Accident & Emergency

(as a service user),

Mum has been in A&E at QEUH with a bowel obstruction 3 times since January 2025. Every time she has had utterly amazing care from everyone from the receptionist to the Consultant. Special thanks to Anne (receptionist), nurses Nicola (who went above and beyond for Mum), Mairi, Sarah and Emma and doctors Martin Burns, Stephen, Ian and Marta. Thank-you all, you are wonderful.

Dear JGMCF

Thank you so much for taking the time to share such kind and thoughtful feedback following your mum’s recent visits to the A&E department at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

We are truly sorry to hear that your mum has had to go through repeated episodes with a bowel obstruction, which we know can be both distressing and exhausting for patients and their families. That said, we’re incredibly grateful to hear that throughout these challenging times, the care she received was consistently outstanding.

Your words are a wonderful recognition of the dedication shown by our team — from Anne at reception to nurses Nicola, Mairi, Sarah, and Emma, as well as doctors Martin Burns, Stephen, Ian, and Marta. We will ensure that your heartfelt thanks are passed on to each of them and the wider A&E team. They will be so pleased to know that their care and compassion made such a meaningful difference.

Thank you again for your warm message. We wish your mum continued strength and a smooth recovery.

Kind regards

Kevin
